D38 College Information Night!

DISTRICT 38 COLLEGE INFORMATION NIGHT

The District 38 College Information Night will be on Tuesday, February 16th. Lewis-Palmer High School will be hosting the event this year from 5:30-8:00. Please see this flier for a complete listing of vendors and presentations. This is a fantastic opportunity for all students (in all grades) and their parents!

2nd Semester Schedule Change Requests
It is just about time to begin getting 2nd semester schedules finalized and set to begin in January when we return from Winter Break. Schedule change request forms will be available to students beginning Monday, November 16. Forms may be picked up in Student Services. Completed request forms will be due Tuesday, December 1 by 3:00p. Requests will not be taken into consideration without all necessary signatures. We will not honor requests made after this deadline as the Counseling Department would like to have all schedules finalized before we leave for Winter Break. Due to the heavy volume of requests we receive, we will not be taking schedule change requests by phone or by email. The only changes that will be made after the deadline are for students who are academically misplaced. Thank you for honoring deadlines and guidelines for this process as it allows for us to work diligently accommodating requests more seamlessly.

New Counseling Structure for SY 15/16!
We would like to announce that the LPHS Counseling Department will be moving to a grade level counseling model beginning in August for the 2015/2016 school year and beyond. With this model, each student will be assigned a Grade Level counselor beginning in the fall, and that counselor will remain with that group of students until they graduate.
Please note, your student may have a DIFFERENT counselor than last year due to this change in counseling models, our caseloads will no longer be alphabetical.
*Seniors in the college application/admissions process may still request letters of recommendation from their previous alphabetical counselor as they see necessary. Otherwise, they should consult with the Senior counselor, Mrs. Githens

2015/2016 School Year Counselor Assignments:
Freshman- Robyn Hudson
Sophomore- Erika Nash
Junior- Larry Clouse
Senior- Megan Githens

Please look for an email introduction from each counselor just before the school year starts, which will also serve as a reminder about counselor caseloads.
