SCHOOLáCOUNSELING

The Lewis-Palmer High School Counseling Team offers comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling to all students enrolled at LPHS. Counselors are experienced and licensed professionals in the field of Educational Counseling.
Our School Counselors work with students, parents, staff, and the community to provide resources and support in each of the following areas in order to best prepare students for college and career success:



Academicsá- To acquire academic behaviors and strategies for success in key content areas with emphasis on writing skills, reading skills, and mathematical concepts.

College/Career Plans - To develop post secondary goals, to create a yearly action plan, and to understand college entrance requirements and costs.

Personal/Social Growthá - To gain knowledge and develop interpersonal skills, and to understand and respect oneself and others.á

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND SPOTLIGHT

Before long, many seniors will be finding out about college scholarships and other private scholarships they have been awarded. Every year LP honors these scholarship recipients in our Senior Spotlight display, located at the door into Student Services and at our Senior Awards night during graduation week. To ensure that you are properly recognized, please complete the form
"Senior Spotlight" at the bottom of this page and return it to Mrs. Sciacca in Student Services no later than
May 8th, 2015. When you return this form you will be included in the Senior Spotlight in Student Services and you will be invited to the Senior Awards Night on May 18th, 2015.

Please include a wallet sized photo for the Senior Spotlight.

Cosmetology Information Night
Attention all interested 1st year and returning 2nd year Cosmetology students and Parents!
The International Salon and Spa Academy (ISSA) will be holding their AVP Parent Night on Wednesday March 11th, 2015 from 6:00-7:30p. This informational night will be at the ISSA campus at 5707 North Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs 80918. Students and Parents must attend this meeting as it is a requirement of the application process for the Cosmetology program. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Githens at LPHS 867-8007 or Ms. Penny at ISSA 597-1413 ext. 1006.

State and local scholarship opportunities are continually being updated through Naviance. Log into your Naviance account, click on the Colleges tab, go under the Scholarships and Money tab and click on "Scholarship List". Here you will find an updated list of available scholarships you can apply for.

College Bound?

Keep up to date with when College Representatives will be at LPHS. Log into your Naviance account, under Colleges and find a cumulative list of which colleges are coming and when. Click on the sign up tab and print off your registration confirmation and bring it to school that day and have your teacher sign it to get you out of class. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about different schools without leaving the building

SENIORS, October is College Application Month! It is important to start the College Application Process NOW.
It is never too early to start exploring post-secondary opportunities. Sign up to meet a College Admissions Representative and gain a better understanding of what you should be doing NOW to increase your chances for success later!

Important Transcript Information!!




SENIORS! Please follow the steps below when ordering your transcripts for colleges:

1. See Mrs. Sciacca, School Registrar, after you have completed your college or scholarship applications.
2. Pay $3.00 for each official transcript, allowing a minimum of 48 hours for the work order to be completed.
3. Bring Mrs. Sciacca the SENDEDU FORM for electronic submissions of your transcript and school profile; OR bring the completed mailing address for where you would like the transcript sent.
